35th Winter Fancy Food Show at the Moscone Center, in San Francisco, California
MEVGAL USA was thrilled and honored to be exhibited at the 35th Winter Fancy Food Show, a National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) event. This major industry exhibition took place in January at The Moscone Center, the largest convention and exhibition complex in San Francisco, California and was a fabulous success. MEVGAL USA was proud to be in the center of the largest crowd that this event has ever seen, showcasing the gourmet creations that it has come to be loved and craved for throughout the world.
Among the mouthwatering gourmet cheeses featured by MEVGAL USA were fresh, creamy Manouri, rich, white Feta, tangy, sharp Kefalograviera, and the traditional, delicious Myzithra. These products, along with the rest of our line, have been produced with the same time-honored methods created by our Mediterranean ancestors. Fresh, wholesome milk is where it all starts, made by happy animals that roam freely in a natural, healthy environment of green fields and airy mountains in Northern Greece. The result is a high quality product that is both preservative and rBST free. The MEVGAL Protected Designation of Origin (P.D.O.) line lets you know that those products are traditionally prepared and exclusively produced within the regions of Central Makedonia, and therefore enjoys the unique flavors and characteristics of the area.
Since our high quality products are so fresh and nourishing, we love offering them to the world. But the feedback from the show's attendants let us know that our cheeses are not only good to eat, but that their taste and quality gets the approval of food specialists from all over the globe. Over sixty countries were represented at the show by attendants from all corners of the earth: Belgium, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Thailand, Chile, Jordan, Mexico, and South Africa, to name a few. We were delighted to have so many international gastronomes stop by to feast on MEVGAL USA treats. Here is what some of them had to say:
Nikola D., a chef from Croatia, kept going back to the Manouri, commenting "This cheese has the perfect consistency and freshness for any type of salad, whether paired with crisp greens or chilled shellfish. It is exactly what I was looking for to perfect my summer menu."

Swedish restaurateur and lounge owner, Dahlia M. tried the Kefalograviera and said "This would make an excellent delicacy to serve to my customers for their evenings of wine and cheeseā¦I know they look for flavor and purity of product. This is it."
Another exciting moment of the show came when we were visited by the folks from Lick My Spoon, a website dedicated to foodies and food finds. We were really excited to find that they chose our Feta to be one of the top five standouts of the show's featured cheeses. To quote more of their rep's write-up: "Mevgal's Feta cheese stopped me dead in my tracks. It had a fragrant, robust flavor that brought to mind images of Grecian pastures dotted with olive trees, fresh rosemary-perfumed air, and green green grass. While we were so pleased to be able to present our wonderfully delicious, healthy, and pure gourmet cheeses to so many, we are just as proud of our MEVGAL USA representatives, who worked hard to join the hosts of the show in making this a truly "pure" event. Once the event was concluded, our dated posters and pamphlets were included in the recycling efforts and our food scraps were collected for composting.
What a great event. We are overjoyed with all of the positive feedback that our product line received, with meeting so many dynamic food industry professionals, and with being able to give back. And to think- it all started with fresh milk!
